Web forms are essential for any website. Building and styling web forms by hand isn’t the trickiest of endeavors, but it is time consuming. Creating beautiful web forms is now even easier with CoffeeCup Web Form Builder.
Web Form Builder comes with a $69 price tag and has a lot of incredible features, but is it worth it? Let’s find out!
After purchasing Web Form Builder from CoffeeCup software, installing it is a breeze. Once you’ve got Web Form Builder up and running, you simply start building. Drag and drop elements like headings, text fields, dropdowns, and file uploads to where you want them.
You can create any kind of form with this app from basic contact forms, to registrations to surveys.
When you click on a field, you are given options to customize the field properties. Setting field properties is something you have to do for every field and this makes the process so much easier.
It takes only a few seconds to add in your choices for a dropdown or customize the type of uploads you want to allow. You can set hints, error messages and individual CSS for each field.
Themes and Customization
You can either customize your forms how you want or you can use built-in themes. There are fifteen themes that come with Web Form Builder for you to choose from.
Whether you use a built-in theme or not, customizing fields and form styles is a breeze. You can change colors, fonts, borders, backgrounds and more with the click of your mouse.
Creating Complex Forms
Creating a complicated form with ten to twenty or more fields is simple because of the drag and drop interface. You can add spacers and section breaks to easily split up your form into different parts.
Form validation was always my weakest area when building a web form, but not anymore because Web Form Builder makes it easy. You can set the requirements for zip codes, phone numbers, and anything else in a few seconds.
You can even add a CAPTCHA to protect your form against spam, powered by Google’s reCAPTCHA.
Before you publish your form, you can preview it in different browsers to make sure it looks just the way you want. This way you can make any necessary changes to ensure your form looks right in all browsers and mobile devices.
One of the best features of Web Form Builder is the one-click publishing option. CoffeeCup offers S-Drive hosting so you can publish your web form in a matter of seconds.
You can embed forms hosted on S-Drive into your website without manually uploading files to your web server. If you need to update the form, you republish to S-Drive through Web Form Builder.
If your form is hosted on S-Drive, results are saved for easy viewing. You have access to a master control panel to view all your forms at once. They also keep track of statistics and partial submissions so you know if people are starting, but not finishing your form.
If you don’t want to take advantage of their hosted form options, you can manually publish a form you created to your own web server. Go to File > Export > Manual Server Setup to walk through exporting your form and its files.
Once you’ve exported your form, you can upload it to your web server and start using it.
Web Form Builder supports multiple ways to save your form results if you are publishing to your own server. You can setup email notifications, save to a mySQL database or save data to a CSV file.
You can also customize the confirmation message or redirect visitors to another page after they submit your form. You can also send a confirmation email with or without form details.
Standards? They’re Covered Too!
Forms built with CoffeeCup Web Form Builder are designed to work flawlessly on anything that renders HTML, including mobile devices like iPhones, iPads and tablets.
Web Form Builder also uses W3C-valid HTML 5 and CSS 3 so you know your form will work. Forms are also Section 508 accessibility compliant so everyone can use your form.
Third Party Integration
With version 1.2 of Web Form Builder, integrating your web form with payment processors like PayPal, Google Checkout, Authorize.net, and Worldpay is easy. There are plans for future releases to integrate easily with other third parties like MailChimp and Facebook.
Coffee Cup’s Web Form Builder is an incredible piece of software that can create beautiful and complex web forms in minutes. If you are a web designer who builds a lot of forms, this is a great app that is well worth the $69 price tag.
$69 is a little pricey for software that only performs one function, even if it does it very well, which is why I’m rating it 8 out of 10. If Web Form Builder was around $30, it would be given a much higher rating.
There is a free trial available on Coffee Cup’s website so you can download Web Form Builder and take your own test drive.
