As Windows 8.1’s launch draws near Microsoft has released a slew of updates to almost every single official application they have. The updates began rolling out a few hours earlier than the launch.
We haven’t noticed any significant changes to the applications besides the snap views improving, small speed improvements, a new Windows Store tile and small visual tweaks but we’ll be sure to hunt down any changes and report on them.
To get the updates now, open the Windows Store on Windows 8.1 and then use the settings charm to open “App Updates.” Once there click “check for updates” and the pack of updates will appear all at once.
Windows 8.1 is due to be released at 4 AM PDT (starting in New Zealand at midnight local time) and we’ll have coverage of the new OS over the next week.
